Reflections on Applying Interdisciplinary Collaboration, Cross‐Cultural Exchange, and Community Engagement in Studio‐Based Learning

Kenneth J. Kokroko is an assistant professor of Landscape Architecture at the University of Arizona. Drawing on his multidisciplinary training in landscape architecture, anthropology, environmental science, and community‐based participatory research, his scholarship explores methods of community engagement in the planning and design of urban greening projects. His studio teaching practice emphasizes interdisciplinarity and service‐learning, reflecting a holistic approach to landscape architecture education and environmental design in the built environment.

Caitlyn A. Hall, PhD, is a transdisciplinary climate resilience researcher whose work bridges ecology, food and water systems, and community‐driven adaptation. Based at the University of Arizona, she integrates qualitative and quantitative approaches to support just, regenerative futures. Hall is a member of the Next Generation of Sonoran Desert Researchers and Codirector of the Agave Heritage Festival, where she helps connect science, culture, and sustainability across borders.
