AB Ambiguity regarding the meaning of research and other legitimate, but different, forms of scholarship in landscape architecture continues to impede the discipline's growth and development. This speculative essay argues for a clearer conception of research scholarship. It also advocates efforts to expand the field's research capacity. The essay concludes with comments on how faculty members with advanced research degrees might influence professional education in landscape architecture.
