AB  - Elk use of habitat is dependent upon the availability of food, cover (vegetative canopy and stem cover), and drinking water. These components are recognized as landscape elements that make up the physical structure of the site. The elements, in turn, can be mapped and analyzed so as to determine the particular opportunities, constraints, and suitabilities for habitat manipulation within the context of the harvest plan activities.
