AB When the age of flowered graves on Memorial Day is compared with the total number of graves of that age, the rate at which people seem to drop from remembrance is found. The rate for 1986 and 1987 is about 2 percent per year; that is, 2 percent of those graves still flowered will cease to be flowered the ensuing year. The flowering of graves seems to be reduced more quickly for males than females.
