AB A study of private gardens in Thessaloniki in the late 19th century is documented with photographs and maps from public and private collections. Twenty of the original villas exist today and are representative of the cultural diversity of Thessaloniki at this period. The author discusses the garden design with relation to the house, materials, structures, and plantings generally used.
