Her research focuses on landscape architecture pedagogy, leadership, and professional development. She often serves as a visiting evaluator for programs undergoing (re)accreditation for the Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board. Steffens is a CELA fellow and a UGA women's leadership fellow; she has served as a past president of CELA. Professor Steffens holds a BS in Environmental Studies for UNC‐Asheville, and MLA from UGA.Ebru ÖzerEbru Özer, FASLA, has over 25 years of experience in design practice and 15 years in academia. Prior to her academic career, she was a practicing architect in Istanbul, Türkiye. She is an associate professor and chair in the Department of Landscape Architecture + Environmental and Urban Design at Florida International University and the principal and co‐founder of the design firm LandscapeDE. She serves as the vice president of education and a member of board of trustees at ASLA. She holds an MLA, a BArch, a Diploma in Physics, and a PhD ABD in civil engineering.Charlene LeBleuCharlene LeBleu, FCELA, FASLA, AICP, is an alumni professor of landscape architecture at Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama. Her areas of research include coastal planning and design, campus planning and design, and low‐impact development. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and an ASLA fellow. LeBleu is a fellow and past president of the FCELA. She has a BS in forest resources and conservation from the University of Florida and a Master of Landscape Architecture—Master of Community Planning from Auburn University.Hala NassarHala Nassar, PhD, FCELA, is a professor of landscape architecture at Clemson University in South Carolina. She serves as the director of landscape architecture program and graduate programs. Dr. Nassar holds two honorary professorships at Ain Shams University in Egypt and Huazhong Agricultural University in China. She is a CELA fellow. Her research includes historical and cultural landscapes, women in leadership, and international education. Her recent research focuses on robotics and design of the public space. At Clemson, Dr. Nassar leads the World Design Studio (WDS); a collaborative international urban design studio.

She uses design-in-science as part of transdisciplinary approaches to build knowledge about how ecological design and planning affect human well-being, aesthetic experience, and the cultural sustainability of environmental benefits. Her work addresses design and planning of metropolitan and agricultural landscapes across scales—ranging from continental scale implications of agricultural practices to neighborhood scale implications of green infrastructure.

Miller is a professor of Landscape Architecture at UMN. She has published three books on design, public space, politics, and identity: Designs on the Public: The Private Lives of New York’s Public Spaces (University of Minnesota Press, 2007); Almost Home: The Public Landscapes of Gertrude Jekyll (University of Virginia Press, 2013); and Introduction to Design Equity (University of Minnesota Libraries Publishing, 2018). In 2005, Miller cofounded ReMix, a long-term community/university partnership with Juxtaposition Arts. She holds a BA from the University of Toronto, an MLA from Cornell University, and a PhD from the Edinburgh College of Art.Rachel McNamaraRachel McNamara is a resource development associate with the AmeriCorps VISTA at the Minneapolis Promise Zone, where she provides support to community organizations to identify, apply for, and manage external grants. As a research assistant at the University of Minnesota from 2018 to 2020, McNamara cocreated and conducted research on the relationships between landscape architecture and equity. She copresented this work at the 2019 Council for Educators in Landscape Architecture conference. From 2018 to 2019, she worked as an assistant designer at APL Landscape Solutions. She holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Minnesota.Amanda SmootAmanda Smoot is an administrator in the Department of Landscape Architecture at the College of Design, University of Minnesota. Amanda received her PhD from the Department of Design, Housing & Apparel, College of Design, University of Minnesota. Her dissertation research explored the relationships between aging, health, housing, and community among African American older adults. Prior to working for the university, Amanda was a community development manager responsible for the delivery of pre-purchase counseling and education; foreclosure prevention counseling; and local, state and federal housing rehabilitation loans and grants. She also served as a nonprofit program director responsible for state-wide homeownership education and counseling programs.

He Received a BS in Environmental Design and an MLA from Auburn University. Past research interests generally involved the perception of landscapes, specifically with regard to time. His current and future research focuses on greenhouse gas emissions related to landscape architectural teaching and practice.
